Performance of Top Sandbox Games on Android in Australia for Q1 2021

The first quarter of 2021 has been an interesting period for sandbox games on the Android platform in Australia. Sensor Tower has compiled the data, providing insights into the performance of the top sandbox games during this period. Here, we take a look at the key figures for Roblox, Minecraft, The Sims™ FreePlay, TSM, and Avakin Life - 3D Virtual World.

Roblox by Roblox Corporation saw a slight decrease in revenue, starting the quarter with $72K and ending at around $66K. Downloads showed a dip from 10K in the last week of December to 6.6K by the end of March, while weekly active users increased from 376K to 450K, indicating a strong and engaged user base.

Minecraft, developed by Mojang, experienced a gradual decrease in revenue, from $23K to $18K by the end of the quarter. The game's downloads saw a decline from 2.1K to 1.3K, with weekly active users fluctuating, ultimately decreasing from 93K to 90K.

The Sims™ FreePlay, published by ELECTRONIC ARTS, also saw its revenue fall from around $7.8K to $4.7K. Downloads started at 2.2K and had a small rise to 883 by the quarter's end. The weekly active users saw a downward trend from 4.7K to 3.3K.

TSM, another ELECTRONIC ARTS title, had its revenue drop from $3.5K to just under $3K. The game's downloads decreased from 2.1K to 1.4K, and weekly active users saw a slight decline from 3.6K to 2.6K.

Lastly, Avakin Life - 3D Virtual World by Lockwood Publishing Ltd displayed a mixed revenue trend, starting at $2.8K, dipping in the middle of the quarter, and then rising to $3.3K. Downloads dipped initially but saw an increase towards the end of the quarter from 977 to 1.2K, with weekly active users also rising from 5.4K to 5.6K.
